AW60HS Series — NEMA 24 Closed Loop Hybrid Stepper Motor

The AW60HS series is Apexwell's NEMA 24 (60mm) closed loop hybrid stepper motor line, offered across four body lengths with holding torque scaling from 1.25 N·m to 2.8 N·m. Sitting between our NEMA 23 (AW57HS) and NEMA 34 (AW86HS) platforms, the AW60HS fills the gap for applications that need more torque than NEMA 23 offers without stepping up to a NEMA 34 frame.

Closed Loop Feedback

Every AW60HS motor integrates a selectable-resolution encoder (500–2000 PPR) as standard, consistent with the closed loop platform described in our article on why closed loop stepper motors are replacing traditional steppers. At 1.25–2.8 N·m holding torque, this frame size sits squarely in the range where step loss under peak load carries real cost — exactly the scenario closed loop feedback is designed to catch.

Typical Applications

With torque scaling from 1.25 N·m to 2.8 N·m, the AW60HS series fits mid-size CNC axes, industrial conveyor indexing, packaging machinery, and robotics joints where NEMA 23 doesn't have enough torque headroom and a NEMA 34 motor is larger and heavier than the application needs.

Why Choose the AW60HS Series

The AW60HS gives designers a NEMA 24 option between two more commonly stocked frame sizes, useful when a design needs torque headroom without the added size and mass of stepping up to NEMA 34. Custom shaft length, connector type, and encoder resolution are available on request.

We can customize the electrical parameters of the motor and geometric dimensions such as the motor output shaft size according to customer requirements. Accessories including pulleys, eccentric gearboxes, planetary gearboxes and encoders can also be added.
