AW86HS Series — NEMA 34 Stepper Motor with Hollow Shaft

The AW86HS series is Apexwell's NEMA 34 (86mm) hybrid stepper motor line built around a through-bore hollow shaft, letting cables, optical fibers, pneumatic lines, or a pass-through mechanism run directly through the rotor axis instead of routing around the motor. Across six body lengths from 68mm to 158mm, holding torque scales from 2.7 N·m to 11.0 N·m, making this the highest-torque frame size in Apexwell's hollow-shaft stepper lineup.

Unlike the AW42HS/AW57HS/AW60HS hollow-shaft lines, the AW86HS ships as 4-wire bipolar only.

Typical Applications

With a through-bore hollow shaft and torque up to 11.0 N·m, the AW86HS series fits large industrial rotary tables and turntables needing cable or slip-ring-free pass-through, heavy robotic base joints, large-format winding and coiling machinery, and cable-management-sensitive rotary equipment where the torque and frame size of smaller hollow-shaft lines aren't enough.

Why Choose the AW86HS Series

A hollow shaft removes the need for a separate cable pass-through mechanism or slip ring — wiring, fiber, or a secondary shaft can run straight through the motor's rotational axis, simplifying the mechanical design around it, which matters most at this frame's industrial torque levels where routing cable externally is hardest to manage cleanly. Six body lengths let a product line scale holding torque roughly 4x (2.7–11.0 N·m) on the same mounting footprint, with two current ratings (5.0A and 6.0A) available at several body lengths to independently tune torque and current draw. Custom shaft bore diameter and connector configurations are available on request.
