AW57HS Series — 57mm Stepper Motor with Planetary Gearbox
The AW57HS series pairs Apexwell's NEMA 23 (57mm), 1.8° hybrid stepper motor with an M56GXR planetary gearbox, offering motor holding torque from 0.55 N·m to 2.5 N·m and rated output torque up to 20 N·m after reduction. With four available gear-train stages and reduction ratios from 3.6:1 to 326:1 on a 57mm footprint, this series sits above the AW42HS stepper-planetary line, for higher-torque industrial positioning tasks that need substantially more radial and axial shaft load capacity than smaller frames can provide.

Momentary torque moment is rated at three times the rated allowable load across all four stages. 12 reduction ratios are available (3.6 to 326:1), with rated output torque up to 20 N·m — well above what the AW20HS/AW28HS/AW42HS lines deliver on their respective gearboxes.
Typical Applications
With output torque up to 20 N·m and eight body lengths to choose from, the AW57HS series fits industrial CNC axes, heavier robotic joints, conveyor and indexing drives, automated gate and damper actuation, and other applications where NEMA 17 gearmotors don't have enough torque or shaft load capacity but a full servo system isn't required.

Twelve reduction ratios across four gear-train stages let one motor selection be tuned across a wide speed/torque window without changing the mounting footprint. The ball-bearing output stage raises radial and axial load capacity well beyond what the bare motor shaft alone can support — up to 20 kgf radial and 12 kgf axial — while backlash stays within 3° at no load for repeatable positioning. Because the gearbox is factory-fitted and tested as a complete unit, output shaft alignment and gear mesh are verified before the motor ships.
