AW42HS Series — 42mm Stepper Motor with Precision Planetary Gearbox
The AW42HS series pairs Apexwell's NEMA 17 (42mm), 1.8° hybrid stepper motor with an HP42 precision planetary gearbox, offering motor holding torque from 0.10 N·m to 0.80 N·m and rated output torque up to 12 N·m after reduction. With two available gear-train stages, reduction ratios from 3:1 to 100:1, and a choice of square or round output flange, backlash is held to ≤15 arcmin at no load, positioning this series above the AW35HS precision gearmotor for higher-torque, precision-tolerance applications on the widely-used NEMA 17 footprint.

Momentary torque moment is rated at two times the rated allowable load across both stages. 15 reduction ratios are available in total (3 to 100:1). Unlike the AW28HS/AW35HS precision lines, the AW42HS gearbox is offered with a choice of square or round output flange in the same reducer length.

With backlash held to ≤15 arcmin and output torque up to 12 N·m on the widely-used NEMA 17 footprint, the AW42HS precision series fits robotic arm joints, semiconductor and electronics handling equipment, precision CNC and inspection stages, and other positioning tasks where NEMA 17 is the preferred frame size but standard-tolerance planetary gearing isn't accurate enough.
